See Grand Bahama the ATV Way

Whiz through Grand Bahama Island on an ATV with Grand Bahama Nature Tours. You’ll leave from Freeport, so it’s an easy journey from the Grand Lucayan, and a great way to see a lot of the island in one half-day.

Even if you’re not familiar with riding on an ATV, you’ll be able to participate in this tour (as long as you are at least 25 years old), as it begins with safety training and a practice course. From there, the excitement will begin with an off-road experience through some hills and native vegetation—during a break, your guide will even take some time to talk about the environment in the region. You’ll get a great view of the ocean and a new experience on the beach while you move on to travel down the Grand Lucayan Waterway. You’ll take another break at a lookout point to get a view of the beautiful south shore.

This is where your ATV ride ends, but not your tour. You’ll continue by taking a stroll down the tropical Garden of the Groves, where you’ll see waterfalls and more local wildlife. If you’re hungry, time will be provided to visit the Garden shops. From the Garden Café, you’ll still be able to enjoy the scenery while eating a salad or burger. There will also be nearby shops with local merchandise—such as candles, books, and ceramics—so this is a great opportunity to pick up some souvenirs during your trip.

There’s a good chance you’ll be worn out at this point, so the tour ends with a beach break at the private Junkanoo Beach Club. Here, you can enjoy the beach, take a dip in the ocean, or even rent a kayak if you’re not ready to wind down.

When you are ready to wind down, there’s a lot of transportation available from the beach, so you’ll be able to return easily to the Grand Lucayan, and gear up for the next adventure.
